Wild Horses of Alberta

Please sign this petition letter to stop the abuse of our wild horses. We need protection, management and control of our wild free roaming horses.
Currently the wild horse is labeled as Feral. They are considered as descendents of domestic horses. This indicates the governments lack of understanding of the history and heritage of our wild horses.
We are asking the federal and provincial governments to re classify the Alberta wild horse as a distinct species, with their own status. They should be considered as an integral part of the natural system of the public lands. The senseless slaughter of these wild horses must stop. They are a living symbol of the historic and pioneer spirit of the West.
