This petition is in support of the work done by the WWF and other organisations working to preserve and protect global wildlife and nature.
With the recent slaughter of 200 elephants by Kalashnikov or AK47 rifles in Cameroon, the extinction of the last vietnamese Java Rhino due to poaching, the fatal killing of the captive tigers in Ohio due to loopholes in the laws concerning wildlife trade and the thousands of kilos of ivory seized on the way to the asian markets from Africa and implying the poaching of hundreds of elephants, the message has never been clearer that the UN must take mayor measures to update laws protecting endangered species and their habitat and make sure these laws are enforced.
We can no longer irresponsibly endorse and ignore such display of ignorance by standing by and doing nothing at the present rate of loss and must as a species, prove we have learnt something and apply updated ways to preserve and protect our global wildlife, fauna and flora. The scale of destruction of nature by the human being and its consequences must be placed as a subject of priority on the agenda of the worlds leaders and solutions must be reached before issues of lesser urgency are dealt with.
There can neither be any doubts left that human overpopulation and inappropriate education is responsible for the above issues and that the two subjects must be looked at conjuntively
This petition is to help WWF show the worldwide authorities the escalating scale of individuals wanting immediate action to protect global wildlife and nature by adopting and applying new and strict laws fit to achive this in minimum time and guaranty a follow up to ensure these laws are rigorously enforced.
Trade, demand and supply of wildlife products must be located and penalized with public and severe sentences. Habitat must be uncompromisingly preserved and protected with the necessary means.
How can the ruling elite expect people to trust and have faith in their capacities to lead nations for as long as this is industry is permited to continue to flourish. Nature and its biodiversity is mankinds legacy and must be protected as such.
