Jim Bowen continues to be Division Manager of The Toms River Animal Facility even after being responsible for the deaths of seven pit bulls two years ago and now for the deaths of two beloved family companion pit bulls that got loose, summarily executed without so much as a hearing.  Jim Bowen Needs to go for his crimes against pit bulls.

WE RETURN TO TOMS RIVER, NEW JERSEY WHERE JIM BOWEN IS **STILL** THE SHELTER DIRECTOR AFTER BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DEATHS OF SEVEN PIT BULLS (please watch video on youtube Kay Riviello Pile of Seven Dead Pit Bulls) that were claimed to be dog aggressive yet a BELGIUM SHEPHERD with the same label was permitted to live. At that time, the NJ-SPCA approved of their actions.

NOW BREED SPECIFIC DISCRIMINATION HAS REARED ITS UGLY HEAD when two pit bulls DASH AND BEBE were confiscated by Jim Bowen and Toms River Animal Control for allegedly getting into an altercation with an individual and they were summarily EXECUTED BY JIM BOWEN - WITHOUT A HEARING, TRIAL, MEETING WHATSOEVER WITH THE GUARDIAN OF SAID TWO PIT BULLS. These two sweet wonderful dogs that we will get to know intimately over the next two months were loving family members and last I checked in America, authorities are not permitted to confiscate animals and execute them without a judge's order in a court of law and even then could be appealed and challenged.

If this case DID GO TO COURT, WHICH IT SHOULD HAVE, the evidence would have shown that these two pit bulls did nothing unusual that two scared dogs without their family would have done and would have been returned to this family with a ticket for loose dogs.

This is the article that appeared in The Ocean Signal:

Two Pit Bulls in Custody after Early Morning Attacks

TOMS RIVER–Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy says two pit bulls are in the custody of animal control officers after they attacked two residents early Monday morning.

“Corporal Chris McDowell is investigating a incident were two pit bulls attacked two Toms River men early Monday morning,” Mastronardy told The Ocean Signal, “A 45 year old man was walking 6 a.m. when he was attacked by the pit bulls. Another Cranmoor resident, a 60 year old male then heard the man yelling and the dogs suddenly charged and attacked him. Both residents were treated at Community Medical Center for numerous lacerations as a result of the attacks.”

At 10 p.m. Sunday, police received a call the dogs were near Taco Bell on Route 37. At 11 p.m. police received a report citing the dogs almost attacked a resident on West Earl Court. Patrols could not locate the dogs until the incident early Monday morning.

The Dogs were located and police and animal control personnel took them into custody on Maple Avenue.

The owner of the dogs is from Caldwell and was staying in the Money Island section. Mastronardy says he reported the dogs missing to animal control on Sunday night. Animal control officer James Bowen took custody of the dogs.

WE DEMAND THE IMMEDIATE TERMINATION OF JIM BOWEN AS SHELTER DIRECTOR AND CALL FOR A COMPLETE INVESTIGATION OF THE EXECUTION OF THESE BELOVED DOGS DASH AND BEBE. The guardian and his family are so beyond devastated that it is difficult for them to even grasp their dogs are gone.
