STOP the culling of strays in Penang!

  • by: TK LIM
  • recipient: Chief Minister, Penang State Government, Malaysia.

Based on a handful of cases of rabies among stray dogs, the Penang State Government has embarked on a culling "spree" of all strays in the state. To date, some 500 dogs have been put down in a most heart-wrenching and inhumane manner, while thousands more await the same cruel fate.

The state government ought to take heed of the better and proven suggestion of vaccinating, as some international NGO's have even volunteered services and supplies at no cost to the authorities.

So let us put a stop to this merciless killing!

Your continued support is a source of inspiration and here is a quote to share....."If a man aspires a righteous life, his first act of abstinence is from injury to animals" (Leo Tolstoy).

"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." (Mahatma Gandhi)

How wise a saying.......

Deeply touched by your support to the cause, but the sad news is that the culling exercise in Penang has not lost one bit of its momentum ...... as of today close to 900 strays have lost their lives when it was around 500 a week ago!

Lest we forget......'people are judged by how they treat their animals'!
