Backcountry.com; Stop Selling Products Made of Fur and Angora Wool

Animals are beautiful and can be soft and cuddly and what makes them who they are is their gorgeous and soft fur coats.  The problem is that humans are always anxious to feel that fur in the form of clothing and products but most do not realize what an animal endures for the sake of fashion.  You can read more on what horror occurs at fur farms http://headlines.peta.org/rabbits-fashion/?utm_campaign=062416%20PETA%20E-News&utm_source=PETA%20E-Mail&utm_medium=E-News

Animals at these farms suffer tremendously because they are often skinned while alive, frequently electrocuted and/or bludgeoned to death.  Rabbits live in filthy enclosures and are yanked by their ears while their fur is ripped from their bodies.  The poor animals are screaming in pain and it is appalling that they have to endure such brutality in order to create products for sale.  Backcountry is a retailer that sells many products made of fur and angora wool.

As a retailer, promoting the sale of fur further encourages the abuse of these animals for their skins.  Rabbits are such gentle beings, intelligent and social.  They do not deserve to live in squalor and endure a brutal, vicious end. The effort in this petition is to urge Backcountry.com to stop selling any and all fur and angora wool products which continues to promote abuse of the animals unwillingly providing the skins.  You can help in the matter by signing and sharing this petition, adding your own comments and ideas in protection of these animals.

Jonathan Nielsen, CEO for Backcountry.com – I strongly urge you to stop selling any and all fur and angora wool items in your product line.  You are aware that investigations have been conducted to prove that the animals in the fur farms that provide these furs live in horrible confined conditions and endure a brutal existence. Rabbits used for sweaters and other angora products scream in anguish as they are stretched across boards and the wool is violently ripped out of their sensitive skin, a terrifying and painful ordeal that they endure every three months until their bodies give out. Join with other retailers like Zappos, QVC, Gap Inc., H&M, PUMA, Lands' End, Eddie Bauer, Inditex, and Calvin Klein and become fur and angora-free.  Stop promoting such horrific and archaic abuse to animals and ban the sale of fur and angora wool products in the name of profit.
