Support naming the BRAM STOKER BRIDGE, over the Liffey River, Dublin, IE

Signing this petition shows support for our request that the Marlborough Bridge over the Liffey River in Dublin be renamed "Bram Stoker Bridge".

Bram Stoker created one of the most popular and enduring characters in history, Count Dracula, now synonomous with vampires the world over.

Dracula is a major contribution to Irish and world literature, with an unprecedented and ongoing impact on popular culture.

Dublin born Bram Stoker was educated near the site of the Bridge, at Trinity College, where he excelled in all aspects of university life. Stoker worked in Dublin Castle, and after relocating to London at age 31, maintained strong ties to Dublin, and always considered himself an Irishman.

Adding the Bram Stoker Bridge to the recently named James Joyce, Sean O’Casey and Samuel Beckett Bridges will contribute to Dublin's designation as a UNESCO City of Literature.

Such a bridge, further recognition of Stoker and Dracula will add to Dublin's broad international appeal as a tourist attraction, and be a year round reminder of the annual Bram Stoker Festival.

This petition is put forward by members of Bram Stoker's family, Bram Stoker Estate, Friends of Bram Stoker in Dublin, and is signed by fans of Bram Stoker and Dracula from around the world.
