WHALING IS UNECCEPTABLE

Whaling is a huge problem. These whales are just animals and they do not what so ever deserve to be killed. In 2006 Japanese whalers killed 853 minke whales and 10 fin whales, and they started hunting humpback whales in 2007. All were eaten, in the name of "scientific research" that most reputable biologists dismiss as a sham.

Cheating under and outside the International Whaling Commission always characterized the industry of whaling. The whaling industry has a huge history of large-scale cheating. For instance, in 1994 it was finally revealed how the Soviet whaling fleet had, over the course of 40 years, systematically carried out the falsification of catch records. Some of this cheating occurred when there were Japanese observers onboard. For instance, for the 1961 and 1962 season the Soviets claimed that four of their whaling fleets had only killed 270 humpback whales, but in reality one of the fleets killed 1,568 total whales.

Not only are the whales getting killed, but so are dolphins. This needs to end!

We the undersigned hereby state that whaling is a huge problem and it needs to be stopped. Celebrities like Hayden Panettiere are trying everything in their power to get whaling to stop. These harmless animals deserve to live. It takes longer for whales to have their offspring and then after the offspring are born they stay with their mothers for almost a year until they are ready to go off by themselves and they don't produce much as other animals. There may be many whales but they are slowly becoming endangered. These whales are like humans and have rights too. The dolphins need to be saved too. If whaling gets too far the world might see the death of these poor helpless creatures and there may not be any left. So we hereby pledge that whaling needs to be stopped sooner than later. Thank you for taking the time to read this, we really appreciate it and hope that in the near future whaling will be abolished. Thank you.
