During the holiday season lots of tourists from all over the world visit Santorini island , one of the most impressive islands of my country. But to my disappointment there's still enough evidence that donkeys are being exploited for profit while some tourists find it romantic. Not surprising at all but most people who care and fight for these innocent hardworking and devoted creatures claim that they serve in a state of absolute slavery. They are forced by their owners to carry tourists on their back along with other burdens in extremely hot weather, going onwards on stone pathways and stairs!! (up to 250 ). Especially during noon the heat exhausts the animals struggling while having not enough rest on the shade with fresh cold water and obvioulsy no medical care. Volunteer vets of animal welfare organizations have reported cases of abuse were the animals - workers were constantly neglected by their owners - (bosses) and being forced to work even when injured or dehydrated. Not mentioning about getting love from humans of course because they are only useful there as servants!! I beg to have your attention on this subject, we must save them from slavery , they should not be worked till they drop, this "traditional" attraction that is going on for years!!! must become illegal , thus no owner can make money from those poor loving creatures and animals must be put to a sanctuary to be taken care of.

Hello, dear signers and lovely persons out there in the world!!! I'm thrilled to find out that we have almost reached the 11.000 signs , keep spreading awareness and hopefully we will have a huge impact for donkeys!! Greek villagers of this island must learn a lesson from us!
All services are extremely expensive and they make huge income from tourism in general, but everyone has a choice except Donkeys. They only have our voice, that's all, and we are running late. Cheers and Keep Signing!!!!

Thank you all very much for caring , it is vital that you share this petition again now that the summer of unbearable heat is already here in Greece. The hard days for donkeys have begun along with tourists and remember they have no voice, so we must speak for them and share the truth about their miserable lives. Believe me it is worth the effort to make Greece a better place for donkeys and animals in general. So till the Victory, I salute you!!!!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for signing and sharing this one, with all of you compassionate people we have reached the remarkable point of 4.470 signs!!! I know you all have so many issues of animal abuse to solve and we try to help as many earthlings of our planet as we can, through various actions and petitions. Nevertheless i will ask you to share the petition and do not let it be forgotten now the fall has come.
