SAVE THE UK WOLF CENTRE AND THE WORK OF SHAUN ELLIS

Shaun Ellis has spent the majority of his life working with three wolf packs that he and his partner Kim care for at their base in Coombe Martin. Devonshire  Council wish to close the centre due to - they say - noise, traffic and the fact it is in 'an area of outstanding natural beauty.' Shaun's work and research is invaluable to the communities around the world who have wolves for neighbours. Wolves are under attack in their native lands and their futures are uncertain. We are calling on you to share and sign this petition and ask Devon Council members to drop their plans.

To the members of Devonshire Council,

I urge to re-think your plans to close the Wolf Centre at Coombe Martin.

The work Shaun Ellis has done is profoundly significant. The invaluable information he has gained from the three wolf packs at Coombe Martin has enabled him to advise and help rural communities throughout Europe and North America who live in close proximity to wolves.

Globally his work is crucially important both for conservation and biodiversity.

If the centre was to close you are condemning the wolves to a very uncertain future and you are also affecting a great number of people around the world.

I ask you to halt your actions and look to confront the problems you say are the reasons to close this centre. Meet with Shaun and other environmentalists to come up with a solution. Be forward thinking rather than staid. Try lateral thinking. The environment and nature is ever more precious and needs to be protected.

I question your argument about the Wolf Centre being detrimental to an area of outstanding beauty as wolves in themselves are features of natural beauty and are an asset to you and the county.

With wolves under attack in their native lands it is imperative that we secure a well established pack to aid in repopulation when the time comes. You are in a position to make a difference - globally, please do not squander it.
