outdoor wood boiler smoke bad for you and your children!!

Issue-outdoor wood boilers produce thick noxious wood smoke that drifts into neighboring homes and properties forcing children and other neighbors to breathe in these noxious gases night and day. Wood smoke has been found to have profound adverse effects on the heart, lungs, and blood vessels. It is near impossible to stop your neighbor's wood smoke from entering your home, therefore forcing you and your children to breathe in the small particulate matter day in and out. You can't just leave your home when the smoke gets thick. Goal-to have an ordinance that makes outdoor wood boilers less of a nuisance and health risk by having laws that include a minimum distance they can be placed from a Nearby dwelling, smoke stack height that must be a minimum number of feet higher than a nearby dwelling's roofline, and a minimum lot size the owner must have so they can place these far from any nearby dwelling. Also, fining if anything other then seasoned firewood wood is burned in these boilers. (No treated wood, glues, trash, etc.).

My connection to the cause-recently purchased what we thought was our dream home in the country to find thick smoke wafing through our home on a daily basis. Adjacent property is on 3 acres and wood boiler is only about 75 feet from our youngest daughter's bedroom. Imagine your children being forced to breathe thick smoke day and night just so your neighbor can save a little money at the expense of their and your family's health. We are going to have to sell our home at a great loss to protect ourselves. These should not be allowed on small properties with neighbors close by! It isn't just!

Please sign this petition to get an ordinance that makes it much harder to place one of these in an area that can affect innocent bystanders. I am not looking to ban these outdoor wood boilers.  Just make it harder for people with smaller lots like 5 acres or less to place these things in an area in which the smoke drifts onto neighboring properties becoming a nuisance and cause serious health issues.
