Stop dynamite fishing in Tanzanian waters

Dynamite fishing is destroying the coral reefs and a great number of fish species along the Tanzanan coastline. Tanzania could increase tourism by selling diving and snorkeling packages but reefs are being destroyed and divers are scared out of the water in Dar es Salaam by fisherman using dynamite to kill fish not concerned about the damage they are causing the corals and other marine species. Today 29 June 2014 two seperate dives and we heard blasting on both dives.

Tourism plays a key role in the country's economy; it is one of the main sources of foreign exchange and it offers employment opportunities both directly (supporting around 198,557 direct jobs) and indirectly.

Fisherman can make more money by taking tourists on snorkeling adventures than they can by dynamiting the corals reefs
