STARVING HORSE - ANIMAL CONTROL DOES LITTLE OR NOTHING

Save a starving horse. There is a horse, Regal, who is not being fed appropriately and reached the point of falling over before the local animal control would do anything. Then they just warned the owner and when they come to inspect they call him the day before to let him know they are coming.
We have a local vet who has offered to take the horse and even pay for it but the owner is not interested.

The owner has a small pen with electric fence. When I saw the horse in July he was hungry but the hay was outside the fence where he couldn’t reach it.

THE ANIMAL CONTROL NUMBER IS: 336-570-6302

118 West McAden Street

Graham, NC27253

Several of us had to call before we even got them to look at the horse. The first time in July they said it wasn’t thin enough yet.

If you conact animal control mention my name as someone who already reported the problem.

OK everyone. The horse is now being overfed by people who care. Please- if you bring food do not automatically give it to the horse, leave it for the owner to use. I think he will use the food for the horse since there is a vet now overseeing the horses care. The animal control office has been out every week for the last couple of weeks so that is good too.
