Hoover City Schools Needs an Auditorium for their Arts students

Hoover needs an auditorium for our students and families. Here's why. It is clear in Hoover that the arts don't get nearly as much recognition as the sports, especially football. Josh Niblett gets paid upwards of $110,000 a year just for telling some boys to tackle son other boys and run down a field. Choir teachers with the highest amount of qualifications would only get paid about $77,000. And if we are being honest the choir teachers put in so much more work. I am a 7th grader at Bumpus Middle School. I am in the Cadence Show Choir there. ALL of the cost to be a member of that group are paid for by the families of the students. Hoover needs an auditorium. Forcing our choirs, show choirs, bands, theatre productions etcetera, to perform in gymnasiums or small auditoriums that can barely fit a student body inside of it is not working. Gyms are something to be played in. They have horrible acoustics and are bad for performances. We propose that you take the money that you have as seen in your budget and put that into funding for the arts programs and an auditorium for us to perform in. We spend thousands of dollars a year working with our athletic programs. They get donations rolling in but you don't see that happening with the arts. In conclusion Hoover, Al, please consider with the millions of dollars you have spent building the infrastructure the past year, get the students and the families of hoover the auditorium that we deserve.
