Give us our degree! Our future is hanging in the balance.

We are students of School of Planning and Architecture(SPA) Bhopal and SPA Vijayawada and we wish to bring to your kind notice an important and pressing issue faced by us. 

 
Our institutions were established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India in July 2008, with a 4 year Bachelor of Planning course and 5 year Bachelor of Architecture course.
 
Till date, from each institute, three batches of Planning and two batches of Architecture students have completed the course(approximately 500 students). But they are still awaiting their degrees to be granted.
 
In spite of the School (University) being established by the Central Government, it is very unfortunate that our institution does not have a degree granting status till date.
 
There has been speculations, and we believe it is true, that off campus degree would be given to us. But we the students collectively believe it is not what we deserve. Off campus is not the solution, please give us what we deserve and it is our own degree. Please pass the SPA Act as proposed. We are given to understand that “SPA Act” is in the formulation stage since a very long time and is yet to see the light of the day. Recognition of COA is another pressing problem which is preventing the students from getting jobs in government and other multi national institues.
 
And we humbly humbly request Smt. Smriti Irani (Union Minister of Human Resource Development, Government of India), to please take necessary action to allay our fears and give rest to these distressed minds.  
 
We are only asking for what was promised to us when we joined this institute. Please give us what we rightfully earned. Our degree.
