Hundreds of animals every year are the target of shelter abuse. They don't ask to be here, all they want is do their jobs, to be "man's best friend". Shelters across the U.S. are using very harmful means of "putting down" their animals such as gassing, starvation, stick a lethal needle through their hearts, and even target practice in the mid west! In 1989 the last inmate in California was put to death by entering a gas chamber. After 1989 criminals were protected by a law that said gassing was cruel and unethical, while 21 out of the 100 counties in North Carolina gas there animals. In many cases animals entering the shelter are only given 3 to 4 days to find their forever home, how is this possible?? 4 days MAX is no time to find these animals homes! Save them! My mission is to return to my hometown located in Hickory NC to start up my own animal shelter and pull animals from all the 21 counties that still practice the gassing method. In the mean time, I plan to gather enough support and backing from my fellow animal lovers to stop this cruelty. One person can not do it alone, lets all ban together for these animals, be their VOICE! and stand up for them! Sign my petition and show the love these poor helpless animals deserve.
