A & W Bragging about CHICKENS Vegetarian Diet? How about CAGE and CRUELTY FREE Eggs and Chicken?

A & W should not be bragging about their chickens getting a vegetarian diet. Chickens ARE vegetarian. They should be cage and cruelty free if A & W wants bragging rights. I believe that a responsible Corporation should be trying to better the lives of the animals used in their restaurants for profit.

The Wikipedia definition of chicken feed is "Poultry feed is food for farm poultry, including chickens, ducks, geese and other domestic birds.

Before the twentieth century, poultry were mostly kept on general farms, and foraged for much of their feed, eating insects, grain spilled by cattle and horses, and plants around the farm. This was often supplemented by grain, household scraps, calcium supplements such as oystershel, and garden waste.

As farming became more specialized, many farms kept flocks too large to be fed in this way, and nutitionally complete poultry feed was developed. Modern feeds for poultry consists largely of grain, protein supplements such as soybean oil meal, mineral supplements, and vitamin supplements."

This begs the question, what were your chickens getting fed before your campaign of "Our chickens are fed a vegetarian diet"?  The only people you are fooling with this statement are the uninformed and does not make you any better than McDonalds or any other entity selling caged eggs or chickens. If you really want to be heroes adopt a cage and cruelty free policy.
