When it comes to large scale music festivals, Alaska presents a unique set of barriers and challenges for promoters of national tours like the Warped Tour, Mayhem Fest, etc. Between 2014-2016, Anger Management and Family Tree Presents partners with a bevy of local entertainment providers and Vans Warped Tour, to bring Alaska the Road To Warped Tour; a one day, all ages, festival with between 6-9 national bands, and between 9-20 local bands. Unfortunaley, there was not a RTWT in 2017.
We firmly believe that the RTWT is THE BEST, if not the only, alternative/rock outdoor music festival that happens in Alaska. In addition to bringing up a handful of road-tested, battle-worn, national bands, the RTWT creates great opportunities for our local Alaskan bands to play on some of the biggest stages to some of the biggest crowds they will ever see. The quality of Alaska's local music scene helped create an environment where there was enough attention and interest in live music to make this show possible. We are asking you to sign this petition, to aid us in recapturing the excitement of the first RTWT. Help us show our local promoters, past partners, and the Vans Warped Tour family that Alaska has not forgotten about the inspiration and community building that happens at the RTWT events. By signing this petition, you are agreeing that the RTWT is a valuable entertainment option in Alaska, and you are indicating that if the RTWT was to return, you are [very] likely to purchase a ticket to attend. While signing, we encourage you to name 1-3 bands that you would like to see in Alaska. We realize that every band in every lineup will not appeal to all people, however, we want to capture your specific interests as best as possible.
Please help by sharing this petition with your fellow Alaskans, and let's bring this show back bigger and better than ever!
