PLEASE SAVE GORSE RIDE SOUTH ESTATE FROM DEMOLITION

Wokingham Borough executive committe have unanimously voted to knock down the homes of hundreds of people to avoid maintenance costs. Gorse Ride South estate, owned by Wokingham Borough Council, is due to be demolished in the near future. The residents, many with young children, are facing being rehomed with no security for their future living arrangements. Please sign this petition to demand that Wokingham Borough Council does not demolish Gorse Ride South estate.

The demolition will disrupt hundreds of lives. At the meeting of the council's executive committe Brydie Kiuoran, who lives in Gorse Ride South, said: "You can't uproot my family like this, we're all settled there. How would you feel if it was your homes under threat?"

Residents of Gorse Ride South feel their views have been ignored. At the meeting, Brydie said: "We weren't given enough notice, we only managed to submit our questions to the executive the day before the meeting. They're not listening to our views at all."

The sudden destruction of a community is not a reasonable way to save money. Please sign this petition to demand that Wokingham Borough Council work with residents to determine what is best for the local people who will be affected by their decisions. Say no to the demolition of Gorse Ride South!
