Support TNR in Bayonne, NJ

The Bayonne Feral Cat Foundation is a community based non-profit which exists for the sole purpose of decreasing the number of feral cats throughout the city of Bayonne through the humane effort of Trap-Neuter-Return. Since we have been in existence, we have been directly responsible for the prevention of thousands of cats.

Recently, The Bayonne Feral Cat Foundation has come under attack by the cowardly anti cat mayor and his puppets on the city council.  We are desperately trying to implement a TNR ordinance but the mayor and the city council only believe in killing these defenseless animals.

We need your voices to be heard.  Tell everyone you know.  Please fax or email a letter stating that you support the efforts of The Bayonne Feral Cat Foundation and that you support Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) - the most humane and effective method available to end the severe feral cat overpopulation crisis.

Please do not expect a reply, he is not man enough to answer.  I guess cats got his tongue.

This will not cost you anything, other than a little of your time.

Help us change the current ordinance to allow Trap/Neuter/Return and not hold citizens liable, just because they feed feral cats.

Thank you for your support.

We the undersigned, support The Bayonne Feral Cat Foundation and Trap-Neuter-Return.  Like many others, I believe that TNR is the most effective method currently available to reduce the feral cat population.  Why waste tax payer money with Trap and Kill considering it does not work.  It only creates a vacuum effect, bringing more unneutered cats into the territory to multiply.

Without intervention, breeding and overpopulation can quickly become out of control.  Through Trap, Neuter and Return, cats are sterilized and vaccinated, halting the endless cycle of breeding and keeping them healthier, especially when caretakers are allowed to feed them daily. Feral cats are then allowed to live their lives in the only home most of them have ever known- outdoors.

Virtually every feral cat that enters a shelter or animal control facility is killed. The very system that is supposed to care about the welfare of animals is, in fact, subjecting them to a policy of extermination.  Funded by taxpayer dollars, these inhumane programs have proven themselves ineffective in controlling the over-population of cats.

Cities that have implemented a TNR program have seen significant decreases in feral cat population.  It also costs taxpayers less money to neuter and vaccinate a cat, than it does to euthanize it and dispose of their body.

TNR is the ONLY humane solution that works!

I applaud The Bayonne Feral Cat Foundation and their dedicated volunteers for stepping up and taking action to help solve this problem.
