Every year, the inhumane slaughter of Calderon Dolphins occurs in the Feroe Islands of Denmark. Most of the participants are teens, and plenty of people stand around watching this slaughter take place. This appears to be some sick right-of-passage festival for these teens as they enter "manhood." Not only is this slaughter senseless and inhumane, the dolphins actually cry out like human babies as they are being hooked in their blowholes and slashed across their necks. This seeems to have little to no impact on the idea that these people are taking part in or condoning the senseless slaughter of such a gentle traveler of the sea. How can any of of stand by and allow this to continue without standing up as the voice for these helpless beings. Please help stop the slaughter. I recently heard about the documentary film that showed the senseless slaughter of Calderon Dolphins off the coast of the Feroe Islands in Denmark. Please watch, so you, too are informed of this terrible annual event.

I ask that you urge the Danish government to step in and put an end to this heinous, inhumane and grotesquely macabre festival or rite of passage. Surely, there are more humane and proud ways to represent the Danish people and Danish customs than by continuing to allow this shameful barbarism to continue. The Danish people have a legacy of being humane, and this slaughter should not be allowed to continue and paint a bloody image of Denmark across the world's psyche. We are all better people if we protect the voiceless and the gentle beings we share this Earth with, than to use them in some as meaningless slughter-filled festival. Danes are a better people than that I have always thoguht in my mind and heart.
I also respectfully urge the American leadership to immediately ensure that the International Whaling Commission includes the proper management of dolphins and porpoises and a comprehensive plan to stop the slaughter of dolphins in the Feroe Islands in Denmark.
