Prime Minister Stephen Harper has made it clear that the Canadian government cares little about the negative effects of global warming. After all, the Harper government has made Canada an international laughing stock by failing to live up to its international commitment to reduce this country’s greenhouse gas emissions. The world is pointing its finger at Canada as one of the top ten greenhouse gas emitting culprits.
Canada will be participating in the UN Climate Change Conference in Paris in December of 2015. But, Prime Minister Stephen Harper has yet to come up with a solid plan of action to substantially reduce Canada’s greenhouse gas emissions. Other countries, including the U.S. and China, have already agreed to commit to huge emissions reductions. It is time for the Harper Government to step up to its responsibility, and show the world that Canada takes the global warming crisis seriously.
We need to take action now. The Harper Government needs to know that Canadians want Canada to be a world leader in the fight to slow down global warming.
