Tony Abbott: Stop Spending $3,000 a week of Taxpayer Money on Home YOU DON’T USE

Incredible. Every week, the Australian Government is spending an exorbitant amount on a luxury home in Canberra, meant to be housing recently elected Prime Minister Tony Abbott.

There’s just one problem. He’s not living there. He hasn’t even stepped foot inside.

“TAXPAYERS are forking out $3000 a week in rent for a luxury Canberra house that Prime Minister Tony Abbott has chosen not to use.

The Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC) leased the property as a temporary replacement for The Lodge, which is undergoing a major refurbishment.”

Already, $30,000 in taxpayer money has been wasted on this luxury home which has been vacant since September. If nothing changes, nearly $156,000 will go down the drain - money that could have been used on education, health, or even helping refugees. Instead, the money goes to an empty home. In a country with a growing homeless population.

Enough is enough. Sign this petition and Call on PM Abbott to take action to cancel the contract and stop wasting Australian taxpayer money!

Dear Prime Minister,

You were elected to stop wasteful money - then how come your unused home is wasting $3,000 of our taxpayer money each week?

Please take immediate steps to end the use of public money for the home you don't even use.

best,

Nithin

Tony Abbott doesn't want this story to get out. He doesn't want Australians to learn about his hypocrisy, how he's allowing $3,000 to be wasted.

We need to spread this story - please post on Facebook, send to your friends, so that everyone knows what Mr. Abbott is doing.
