I recently had been diagnosed with shingles which by the way can affect anyone who had chickenpox ( I am 37). I was prescribed oxicoden 5mg/346 mg of basically ibuprofen. After 2 weeks my pain was not going away and I called the dr's office to ask for something different like a higher dosage of ibuprofen, I was given the option to come in to see the Dr that day or get a script well I saw the Dr and asked if I could have something a little more powerful but not as so habit forming, well the Dr encouraged me with no worries of addiction and increased the dosage up to 10 mg of oxicoden. Took that for another 2 weeks and began to realize I was over the shingle pain that was so unbearable that I slowly took the dosage down until I stopped. Well it had been 2 weeks since I have stopped and do I feel aweful. I have dropped 5 pounds and continue to battle with withdraw and I just took the pill orarlly like my Dr prescribed me to do. Never once did I abuse this drug like it is indicated on several websites and I still have withdraw.
After researching a little on my own I have discovered that this is not an issue with just me and my family but it is taking down our country. Thankfully I have a support system and the will power to not use them but my body needs it. For 2 weeks I have been taken away from my family because I am not 100%, not even close. Again I did exactly what the bottle said to do.
America we need to stop the sales of opiates through these pharmaceutical companies. It is tearing a huge whole through our country.
As a nation we can stop these greedy companies who are ripping apart the American families, the American Dream.
