Protest the Release of the Doctor Who Performed "Virginity Tests"

An army doctor charged with performing appalling "virginity tests" on female protesters of the Egyptian revolution has been acquitted by a judge who claims that the testimonies of victims held inconsistencies.

Ahmed Adel, the doctor who stood trial, was released without punishment because the judge found "contradictions."

With this unjust decree, the countless women who were forced to undergo the humiliating five-minute virginity test are effectively pushed into the shadows without army police taking any responsibility.

The court has demonstrated that the woman's anger, humiliation and pain is not worth notice or justice.

This is a devastating blow to women's rights.

The Egyptian army must acknowledge that the virginity tests were a human rights abuse and punishable by law to ensure that all citizens abide by that law.

Tell Egyptian Government: Bring justice for those who endured virginity tests!

We the undersigned are outraged by the unjust verdict given to Ahmed Adel, army doctor.

By refusing to give a sentence to such an outrageous and humiliating crime, you are neglecting the numerous women who were victim to army-approved human rights abuses.

We ask you to appeal the sentence. If not possible, you must seek out other army doctors who performed virginity tests and judge them accordingly.
