Tell New Jersey's Attorney General to Fire Chief Fox for Advocating Racial Profiling

  • by: Llowell Williams
  • recipient: Acting Attorney General Robert Lougy and Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir Grewal

An email sent by Wyckoff Police Department Chief Benjamin C. Fox in 2014 was leaked to the 2014. In it, Fox directly instructs his officers to conduct racial profiling, calling explicitly for them to watch for "suspicious black people."

Right now, Fox is on paid suspension while the investigation is conducted. However, Fox has not denied sending the email nor has he recanted his views; instead, he has stood by his position on racial profiling.

If you believe someone like Chief Benjamin C. Fox has no place leading the men and women of the Wyckoff, New Jersey, community and should not be paid for the duration of the probe, please add your name!

To whom it concerns: We the undersigned respectfully request all necessary actions be taken to see that Wyckoff Police Department Chief Benjamin C. Fox is discharged after the investigation into his alleged 2014 email promoting the use of racial profiling is concluded. For the interim, we ask that Fox is placed on unpaid suspension. Thank you, The Undersigned
