Cut Class Not Animals

Cats, frogs, fetal pigs, earthworms, rats, mice, dogs, even turtles and bats are just some of the many animals used in school dissection projects and studies. The process of capture, transport, warehousing and killing of animals used for dissection show that the entire process causes unnecessary suffering and death. Millions of animals are taken from their habitats, piled into sacks and inhumanely killed by immersing into preservatives. The population of all animals used for dissection  will start decreasing and play a major impact worldwide if it continues.

Teachers and students are questioning the true educational value and ethical factors of using animals in the classroom.  Quickly advancing modern technology can teach students about the biology of living beings along with understanding the vital roles that all animals hold in our world - without sacrificing the animals themselves

Over 10 states throughout the U.S. have laws upholding a student's right to choose humane alternatives to dissection. The State of Michigan is not among those states and it's time to "officially" give students the opportunity to other available resources .  Many schools currently have policies enacted independently allowing student-choice, but nothing mandatory to them.  It needs to be known that unnecessarily killing animals is unethical and is only teaching students that animals are indispoable and useless.  We have Doctors worldwide performing surgeries on humans by laproscopically inserting cameras and viewing their performance on televisions which in turn closes my request.  I ask you to please sign this petition and help give students in the State of Michigan, by law, the right to humane alternatives for dissection.

Thank you for your help and support!!
