House GOP, Don't Roll Back Healthy School Lunches!

  • by: Kristi Arnold
  • recipient: Speaker of the House Rep. John Boehner, Majority Leader Rep. Eric Cantor and Majority Whip Rep. Kevin McCarthy

Republican congressional members want to allow schools to opt out of serving healthy lunches -- they claim that serving healthy foods is too expensive. Instead of letting schools serve cheap junk food, more money should be spent funding school lunch programs.

“It’s not easy, but it can be done and it is being done,” said Mark Bishop, the vice president of policy at the Healthy Schools Campaign. “What I don’t want to see is schools take a step back in serving healthy food to children.”

Tell the House GOP to fund school lunches to keep healthy lunches in our schools!

Dear Sirs,

We the undersigned ask that you fund school lunches more fully in order to keep from stepping back healthy lunches.
