Encourage New Jersey to Implement & Enforce Stricter Animal Cruelty Laws & Penalties

The only way to make an impact in stopping animal abuse, cruelty and neglect is to implement and strictly enforce tougher laws, charges and penalties for such crimes. Several states across our nation is doing just that but with so many variations, like the Moose Law in New Jersey.  You can read more of this law and other animal cruelty charges at  https://www.animallaw.info/statute/nj-cruelty-consolidated-cruelty-statutes, along with state-by-state animal cruelty charges  http://www.straypetadvocacy.org/cruelty_laws.html, http://www.straypetadvocacy.org/PDF/AnimalCrueltyLaws.pdf

The Moose Law in New Jersey was named after a sweet chocolate Lab who was kidnapped and died in the confines of a hot car.  There are some flaws in this and many other cruelty laws because the person responsible for this particular crime is actually able to continue working with animals! One may wonder how we can protect animals if such abusers are allowed to be free to repeat their crimes.  The proposal is that New Jersey implement and strictly enforce tougher animal cruelty laws, charges and penalties.

I want to see that all states nationwide implement felony charges, including New Jersey, for any and all crimes against poor defenseless animals, ensuring that abusers receive longer jail sentences, higher fees, and possible acts of community service hours. Such a person also needs to be placed on an animal cruelty registry to be shared nationwide with anyone within the animal industry such as those in sales, care, breeding and treatment. Additionally, such abusers need to be banned for a lifetime working with, caring for or owning animals for the rest of their life. There shouldn’t be any second chances because it should be common knowledge that abusing an animal, just like abusing a human is wrong and unjust.

The effort in this petition is to strongly urge the New Jersey State Legislators to implement and strictly enforce tougher felony animal cruelty charges with appropriate severe penalties to fit the crimes.  You can help with this issue by signing and sharing this petition, adding your own comments and ideas for the protection of animals.

New Jersey State Legislators – I strongly urge you to implement and strictly enforce tougher felony animal cruelty charges with appropriate severe penalties to fit the crimes.  Any and all crimes against animals need to be classified as a felony, ensuring that abusers receive longer jail sentences, higher fees, and possible acts of community service hours. Such a person also needs to be placed on an animal cruelty registry to be shared nationwide with anyone within the animal industry such as those in sales, care, breeding and treatment.
