We , the undersigned, hereby state that we disapprove of the decision to euthanize Jonah, and we urge you to reconsider on this matter. I understand that the costs involved are extremely expensive, but considering the history of abuse and neglect by human hands, We think that it's only fair to provide for his medical treatment.
Also, We understand that there have been numerous attempts to have Jonah released and adopted out from the animal shelter in Van, but as of now, all attempts have fell on deaf ears.
We are pleading with you, please give Jonah one more chance at life!
We can find him a loving, forever home! All we ask from you is the approval from Turkish officials.

Van, Turkey: The World is Waiting and Watching November 28, 2008
I am sure that by now, the world has heard - and the world is waiting and watching - about the little abandoned street dog in Van, Turkey who lay paralyzed, starving and suffering on the ground for days. He was struck down by a car and left to die on the filthy road. After many %u201Ccomplaints%u201D, the %u201Cgarbage men%u201D were sent to pick up this little pup and to dispose of him. And, they did; not at the vet hospital but at the city dump. He narrowly escaped being crushed in the truck%u2019s disposal unit. Miraculously, someone took photos which circulated the globe, evoking an international protest. In short, the dog is now in the care of vets at the Van University Veterinary hospital with allegedly irreversible damage to the spinal cord injury at Thoracic1 and Lumbar 2 & 3, and a resultant paralysis.
Sadly in Turkey, most medical professionals and citizens believe that euthanasia is in the best interest of the animal. This Turkish slide show, prepared by WAG NY%u2019s associates in Istanbul accessible at the links below, detail the poignant and miraculous story of two other little victims and gives hope, prayer and conviction, new meaning. The text in English follows the text in Turkish, along with another link to a story of miracles.
We are trying to convince the local authorities to give the dog the chance he deserves and for once in his little life to experience human compassion and gentle love. We require the assistance of the international press and most especially the Turkish Press.
Sadly, the Turks, as with the Greeks, believe that an animal born on their soil should die on their soil, regardless of chances for a better life abroad.
We will keep the international community updated and supply official addresses should the need arise for more letters. Friday, November 28,2008
