Demand Safe Drinking Water!

Six million Americans are basically drinking contaminated water. The culprits are polyfluoroalkyl and perfluoroalkyl (PFAS) which are linked to cancer and known to disrupt immune systems. There is even some evidence to suggest that PFAS compromise the effectiveness of vaccinations in children. The United States Environmental Protection Agency has not written specific guidelines about how much of these substances can be in the water. When PFAS in any water supply reach a toxic level, the EPA merely issues "health advisories" and suggests that local leaders take action.

Volunteer efforts to keep dangerous carcinogens out of our drinking water have failed to keep the public safe. Strong and decisive federal intervention is needed to lower cancer rates and reduce the health risks of filling a glass at the faucet. Please join me in asking the EPA to establish upper levels of polyfluoroalkyl and perfluoroalkyl and hold communities accountable for keeping the water within those limits.

Dear Environmental Protection Agency:

I am deeply troubled to learn that six million people are drinking contaminated water. The presence of PFAS in our water put us at risk of cancer and compromised immune systems. These dangerous chemicals even damage the efficacy of vaccines. It is your responsiblity to protect the water which we all need to survive. Please establish upper levels of polyfluoroalkyl and perfluoroalkyl and hold communities accountable for keeping the water within those limits.
