If humanity is ever to heal, it can not depend on a sickness and expect to be healthy. Racism is a sickness, a mental illness. In order to heal it, it has to be 'let go'. It is outrageous that the leaders of religious organizations would demand that a holy figure would have to be turned WHITE before they can accept it. To contiue to care out this hatred all the way to the point of JESUS is not helping humanity one bit.
Sign this petition asking that POPE FRANCIS in his visit to the United States that he ask all the religious organizations of the WORLD to stop spreading racism toward JESUS and the VIRGIN MARY.
There is a reason why this is the only person in the scriptures that GOD took the time to describe his skin color and hair texture. The fact that world wide, racism is practiced toward people of color just because of the color of their skin indicates that there is much positivity to be gained in seeing this image in its true complexion. Having this image restored to its true complexion will greatly help the world heal in the area of hatred toward people of color. The psychology of the entire world being able to see JESUS as GOD intended for him to be seen is a healing force in and of itself. Whereas to not change the image to its natural complexion is an admission to and the acceptance of the mental illness of racism.
Dear Pope Francis:
We sign this petition with the belief that it will reach you and it will touch your heart to act upon it. We are petitioning you to use your position and influence to request of all religious organizations and people who believe in JESUS to stop imposing racist images of this most revered being.
We believe that to encourage people to see JESUS as GOD describes him in the bible will help the whole of humanity to look at people of color in a different and more humane light.
On the contrary, to not address this issue is to leave people stagnant in their racist world of mental illness. The question is to be asked of humanity "Why must you make JESUS white?" "Why can you not accept a man of brown or black color as a holy man?"
And, we ask you Pope Francis, if color does not matter; why then has then image been white washed? We sincerely believe, Pope Francis, that when African American boys standing on the corner waiting to commit crimes realize that someone who looks like them was given the job of being a Savior; it will surely change their view of themselves and build their self esteem. It will make the world sensitive to the fact that all lives matter which means BLACK LIVES MATTER too.
