Josh 'Jelly' Hudson-Jaques for the First XI

A familiar face in the Bedale cricket community, coming up through the youth system, coached to a high standard by the infamous Adrian Grayson and persistent Phil Staves. Son of ex Bedale legend 'Andrew Hattie Jaques'. However my absence over the past 3 years has cast a shawdow over the raw talent I possess. Some would call me "a one trick pony" or claim that "he only bowls one good ball an over". However unknown to the new arrivals to the club is that Jelly has been on the scene for a number of years. Let me take you back to circa 2009, a Bedale first team low on numbers drafting in a young Jelly to play in the final game of the season. The game against Seaton Carew would determine the fate of either survival or relegation, if it wasn't for the 14 run partnership between myself and a non pubescent Myles Wick the outcome of Bedale CC's future may have taken a different turn. We won that game and stayed up.. I hear you ask how many runs did we win by? 14 runs. Some would say I would've gone down in folklaw but I pushed the plaudits on the rest of the team because that's just the kind of squad player I am.
