Ban horse drawn carriages from Old San Juan

Horse drawn carriages are a shameful tourist trap. With all the green transportation options available today, not only have they no place in the 21st century, but they conceal a silent type of cruelty. Carriage horses are forced to pull the weight of the carriage, its driver, and 4-5 occupants with their luggage, every day for 8-9 hours straight. Not only that, but in Old San Juan, they have to climb uphill through cobblestone paved streets (which requires yet more effort) amongst polluting traffic, and in 90+ degree weather! All in the name of tourism? This inhumane practice has no place in the modern world. Help us put an end to this by signing the petition. Tell Puerto Rico government and legislators that you want a new Old San Juan: a city free of animal cruelty! Tell legislators that NOSTALGIA IS NO EXCUSE FOR ANIMAL ABUSE! Thank you for signing...
