Support Better Transit for the SR 522 North Lake Washington Corridor!

SR 522 and NE 145th St. form a vital transit corridor between I-5 and I-405 and connect north end residents to major regional employment centers in Seattle and on the Eastside.

Unfortunately, the SR 522 corridor is already congested and getting worse quickly. Today 40 to 50 thousand vehicles use the corridor daily. Park & Ride lots are full early every morning. SR 522 needs better transit NOW!

Fortunately, Sound Transit is preparing a ballot initiative called ST3 (Sound Transit 3) to fund new transit projects, and they have put together a list of possible projects to include in ST3. We need them to know that we support projects in the North Lake Washington corridor!

We support the following three ST3 projects:
• Bus Rapid Transit on SR 522 and NE 145th Street—to connect to the future light rail station in Shoreline
• Structured parking along the SR 522 corridor
• A study for future light rail on the SR 522/NE 145th St. corridor

Dear Chair Constantine and Members of the Sound Transit Board:

We are grateful for this opportunity to have our voices heard as we comment on the Sound Transit 3 (ST3) ballot measure. Those who sign this petition do so in support of the following three projects for the ST3 ballot measure:

  • Bus Rapid Transit on SR 522 and NE 145th St., to connect to the future Shoreline light rail station

  • Structured parking along the SR 522 corridor

  • A study for future light rail on the SR 522 Corridor

Again, we appreciate the chance to comment, and we look forward to future opportunities to make our voices heard.

Sincerely,
522 Transit Now! Coalition
