Restore Visitation Rights on Texas Death Row

Target:
To the Warden at The Polunsky Death Row Unit

To the Warden at The Polunsky Unit, Death Row in Texas

We the undersigned are asking that visitation rights for family members that are currently banned from visiting thier loved one be temporarily lifted during the holiday season. We also are asking that inmates being punished on level 3 be allowed what the other death row inmates are allowed, at least during the week of the holiday season.

We realise the seriousness of the recent cell phone and contraband issues, and we also realise that the contraband was state wide, and not limited to death row where the media attention was focused.

Some of these inmates may not live another year to see thier loved ones on Christmas, and we feel that a visit from thier loved ones is not too much to ask for. After all these men have been sentenced to die, and that alone is punishment enough.

Please consider this request and choose to do the humane thing.

Respectfuly, the undersigned

Let the inmates be allowed to visit their loved ones! Isnt it enough that the inmates are locked up ALL DAY,EVERY DAY 24/7 365 DAYS A YEAR? This is a really evil thing to do,it is the inmates rights to be able to see their families!

In banning visitations for death row prisoners you are not only taking thier right to have visitation with their family. You are also taking the families right to see their loved one away from them. Why are we punishing the families of the convicted as well as the convicted.

It is my belief that each person is made in the image of God and that we human beings do not have the right to decide when a person's life will end. However, since your law allows capital punishment, these people and their families can at least be afforded the opportunity to spend time with their loves ones. Thanks for your consideration of this request.

Please do not punish others for the actions of a few. And most of all the holidays are a special time and they should remain special and respected and excepted from any kind of punishment.

Warden, I know there are rules and regulations that are so stated in every prison rule and regulations book.Sometimes rules should be bent. You will be with your loved ones at Christmas andI I'm sure your family wouldn't have it any other way.Are you positive that next Christmas you or any and all your family will have made it another year? Some Death row inmates will never get to see another holiday season.Jesus gave his life for us and forgave those who murdered him.It would be a very humane gesture on your part to allow holiday visiting to all.Their families love them and could possibly be their last holiday to visit! I beg you to please allow visiting! There are so many other ways to punish inmates that don't abide by the rules.Give them this and ban or take away something else. Please,Warden, this also punishes their loved ones, who did nothing but love their father, mother.brother, husband and anyone that they love on death row.I'm sure this wrong can and will be made right.Happy Holidays to you!

If you can't give consideration to the inmates, give it to their families. These inmates are parents. These inmates are someone's child.

This isnt just about the inmates' rights to visits, this has to do with the families of the inmates being able to see their loved ones

I think the death penalty is the wrong way to stop people killing other people and is more than sufficient punishment without the restriction on visiting rights. Please remember these people are human beings and should be treated fairly even though they may have committed a crime.
