Black Hills leaving people out in the cold! Change the Policy!!

Black Hills Energy, a gas company, has a policy that requires they have 2 days to turn the gas on, to ensure to them that your money has posted. It happens when they have to write off any amount of money that you have owed under your name. This Friday, I was getting gas under my name after they had disconnected previous tenants service. They informed me that 5 years ago there was an outstanding bill. I had left gas on for a now ex fiance, who I trusted would wrap it up. (yes I understand it is still my responsibility). So, this Friday the 15th, 2019, during a winter weather advisory, I paid the money they requested $140.00. I call them with confirmation number, they looked up the account, and sure enough they saw the money was posted. They tell me they can't turn on gas for 2 days to ENSURE that the money is posted.. their policy. They see the money is in their hands, but, still have to wait per policy. So, ok, two days, no biggie, except it's Friday. Weekends don't count towards their 2 days. So their policy of 2 days is actually 4 days for me. I made it aware that we we're in a winter advisory with tonight Monday the 18th 2019 being the coldest at 12deg. Today's high is 21deg. Their policy doesn't care. We have taken precautions that we can, safely, but it is still cold, and I might be getting sick. One more night to go. I think this is punishment. Black Hills is the only gas company in this area. So people like me, in similar or worse situations are at their mercy. They need to revise this policy, it can be dangerous, for people that do not have access to heaters or have somewhere to go. Everyone's situation is different, one thing is certainly the same, heat is a human right.
