Tell the Department of Defense to STOP hybrid insect research!

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), a branch of the Department of Defense, is conducting research under a program called Hybrid Insect Microelectromechanical Systems. HIMS involves combining nanotechnology with the bodies of living insects for the advancement of military weapons and reconnaissance drones.
This project is disrespectful of the lives of living creatures, pours untold millions of dollars into questionable research, and has unforeseeable consequences for the natural world, including the agriculture on which all our lives depend. (Part of this research was trying to "train" honeybees to find land mines -- is that what REALLY happened to the honeybee population?) A ramification, also, is what a million tiny spies would do to our privacy and freedom.
Tell the Department of Defense to stop this research and tell Congress to refuse to fund this or similar research in the future. Protection of the Earth and Earth's creatures is the responsibility of everyone -- the world is not an armament depot for our use.
