Facebook Remove The $5 Promotion Charge For Pages

What happened to "Facebook is free and it always will be?" Does Facebook really need the $5 more than we do?

If someone "Likes" my page they should be able to see my posts in the News Feed unless they hide them - period.

It's a free service but we depend on it now. I run several Animal Rescue Pages and we rely on postings to get dogs adopted and out of kill shelters. So far we have been thankful to Facebook for creating many adoptions. However that may come to an end because I don't exactly have the funds to pay $5 per post.

I am tired of having pages that thousands of people have "Liked" but only "reaching" a few hundred. This silliness will cost lives and make it harder for us to promote animals in need. Shame on the greed of Facebook.

It's tough times for business owners too - should they have to pay just to get in touch with the fans on their pages? What about charities? News pages?

Facebook has always claimed it isn't about the money but simply seeks to create a new concept in social networking.  Prove it! :)
