notify individuals about ex-cons living nearby

Megan's Law is an informal name for laws in the United States requiring law enforcement authorities to notify individuals if registered sex offenders or ex-convicts are living in their neighborhoods. Commonly included information includes the offender's name, picture, address, incarceration date, and nature of crime. The information is often displayed on free public websites, but can be published in newspapers, distributed in pamphlets, or through various other means.
We the unersigned believe that Megan's Law needs to be enforced in Canada. Please, for your own safety and for the safety of your children, friends and family, please sign this petition. If we get enough supporters, further measures will be taken for the Canadian government to become aware of this extremely important issue.

Thank you for your time.
