Urge President of Philippines to Honor Paris Agreement to Fight Climate Change

Rodrigo Duterte, the President of the Philippines, has said the unthinkable: he won't honor the United Nations Paris Agreement.

Why won't the President fight this global threat?

As reported in the Guardian, President Duterte justifies his position because:

“You who have reached your peak and along with it spewed a lot of contaminants, emissions … Good for you. We are here, we have not reached the age of industrialisation. We are on our way to it.”

How little has President Duterte progressed if he wants to replicate the mistakes of history instead of learning from them?

Ironically, the Philippines will be one of the hardest hit victims of climate change. TIME has called it the "ground zero for climate disaster" because four out of 10 of the country's most horrible storms occurred in the past 10 years. Warming and rising sea levels could destroy over 7,000 of the country's islands.

Sign and share this petition if you want President Duterte to honor the Paris Agreement and to cooperate with other leaders in fighting the common enemy -- climate change. There's so much at stake for the Philippines and the world. The future is begging us to answer: Who will end it?
