Hornbach, huge do-it-yourself market, uses poverty to improve their sales success

Hornbach shows a new add on TV. The story is simple: A man dressed in ragged clothes seeks a huge waste disposal site - maybe in India (it looks like India, is made up like India, reminds of Slumdog millionaire) - and gets tools to dig from (an Indian?). And he digs, very successfully....
I am totally appalled by the idea that someone/a company should use (abuse) poverty to improve sales.
