Poshmark is an app were women can buy and sell clothing items from other users. Recently, there has been an uproar on a item posted on Poshmark for sale. This listing contains a "vintage" Fox tail vest being sold for $650. At first when looking at the listing, one would thank it is "harmless" to post. When continuing to read the describtion, it is noted that the fur being used is that of Arctic foxes.
After doing some research, I have found that Arctic foxes are classified as critically endangered which makes the sale of any item created from their fur, vintage or not, illegal under the Endangered Species Act as well as U.S. law. This particular listing has been reported for being an offensive item, item not allowed, and harassment. Also, several other people using the Poshmark app have emailed the company informing them that this listing is illegal and yet they have done nothing to removed the listing and others like it.
Please sign this petition telling Poshmark to censor and prohibit listings for items containing endangered species furs and products using other furs like seal and other marine mammals. Also, for Poshmark to create a report option for those users that will find a way around this.
