Stop the Removal of "Catholic" from the title of the Upper Peninsula Catholic Credit Union

It has been confirmed that the Upper Peninsula Catholic Credit Union plans on removing "Catholic" from their official title in order to more fully express it's willingness to serve all people and/or denominations. In other words: to hopefully bring in more clients/revenue. The Upper Peninsula Catholic Credit Union (UPCCU) was originally founded by Monsignor McKevitt of St. Peter Cathedral and it's parishioners in 1953 in order to give people the opportunity to get loans in an affordable way to improve their economic and social condition. From it's humble start it has grown to be one of the largest credit unions in the Upper Peninsula serving thousands of members. Given the success of the UPCCU it is obvious that the title is not a hindrance to potential clients and is an important symbol of it's history. Credit Unions are non-profit organizations meant to serve it's members (who are also the owners) so to make such a change without consulting the owners/members appears wrong especially considering the number of Catholic members who are proud of its humble beginnings and representation of faith.
