We need gender neutral public toilets in West Lothian, Scotland

Human rights is very important, so why should transgender people of the West Lothian community in Scotland have to feel pressured about which restrooms to use in public? We wouldn't have to feel either nervous or scared to use the restroom in public if gender neutral toilets were provided.

Gender neutral toilets are important for a number of reasons. For example:

  • Trans men may menstruate so may need sanitary bins and products normally not found in men's toilets.
  • Trans people may be more likely to experience transphobic harassment in gender-specific toilets.
  • Some people may not identify as male or female, so forcing them to choose from these binary gendered toilet options can be a traumatic experience.
