Demand all EU contries comply to a basic Animal Welfare Protection Act!

All countries within the EU should have a Basic Animal Welfare Act as part of their condition of entry into the EU. I am calling on Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Commission to ensure all EU countries provide basic provision for stray dogs, cats and donkeys within their countries, to include shelter from the rain, sun and wind, fresh water and food and bedding.

The provision of "kill" shelters for dogs must be replaced with long term humane shelters offering a spay and neuter service for dogs and cats, funded by the local authority in each town, which focuses on re-homing these animals, not killing them by means of cutting their throats, injecting them with anti-freeze in the heart and stamping on puppies or freezing them to death!!

Will you please sign my petition to try to get legislation through in the countries that have non or very poor animal welfare systems in place, and to enforce the Animal Welfare Act in countries where the government and local authorities do not comply with existing legislation.
