UCSC Consent Pledge
I pledge to actively seek and obtain consent from any and all partners. I understand sexual consent should always be informed and freely given: Without pressure, entitlement, intimidation, or fear.
I have the right to say NO.
I have the right to feel safe.
I have the right to be heard and respected.
I have the right to mutually consensual and pleasurable experiences.
I have the responsibility to communicate when I am uncomfortable.
I have the responsibility to ensure my partner(s) is (are) comfortable.
I pledge to remember these rights and responsibilities and to incorporate them into my decisions whenever appropriate.
I pledge to educate others in my community about these issues, and look after the safety and well-being of my peers.
Together, we can eliminate sexual violence in our community.
