Demand Sky and other Stolen Dogs Get Recognition Now!

Sky was stolen from Castleford, west Yorkshire on 2nd December 2015 and like so many other desperate owners I have tried endlessly to make her too hot to handle by way of social media campaigns, banner days, posters and flyers but the real answer to our problem is staring us right in the face.

Dog theft in the UK is an ugly, cruel and heartbreaking crime which it is sad to say gets very little recognition and we as owners are horrified by how little help and support we receive from both the Police and media in general. It is rising to epidemic proportions with organised gangs stealing pets to order on a daily basis sadly with many ending up as 'breeding machines' or as 'bait dogs' or the dogs being held for ransom with the owners paying extortionate amounts of money to get what we believe are our family members back.

Crimewatch has been doing an amazing job since 1984 and continues to do so to this day. Imagine the hike in ratings if they had a section of the show dedicated to stolen dogs and imagine the good they could do in not only getting our family members back where they belong but in highlighting the rising epidemic of dog theft throughout the country.

On the 23rd February this year The One Show had a section of their program in which my stolen dog Sky was featured amongst others and the very next day one of the featured dogs Gog, a stolen Yorkshire Terrier, was reunited with her owner.
