Rescind Approval of Second Dog Breeding Facility

Just days after the UK government has cancelled the vote for relaxing the foxing ban, officials have announced plans to open a second massive breeding facility that sells puppies for animal testing.http://www.yousignanimals.org/The-UK-government-has-just-approved-a-farm-that-breeds-beagles-for-animal-testing-1-t-3769

This is Britain’s second facility – the existing one, located in Harlan breeds about 3000 dogs each year. It will breed beagles which will be later sold for vivisection purposes, meaning that the defenseless dogs will be cut open and will be experimented on while still conscious.
The go-ahead has been attacked by the National Anti-Vivisection Society (NAVS) as a “betrayal of the animals, the public and science.”

Secretary of State Greg Clark (Pictured) has now overturned the rejection to allow B&K Universal to build the centre. The facility will be located in Grimston East Yorkshire in Holderness village and will breed beagles to be used in scientific and medical tests. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/fury-tories-approve-dog-breeding-6079403

B&K belongs to an American company, Marshall Bio-Resources, which operates sites around the world breeding and selling animals for use in vivisection laboratories.

Please sign the petition and urge the UK government to rescind the decision to approve this facility. We, the undersigned, strongly feel that alternative methods should be used. Testing on animas is highly unethical and unacceptable! Such facilities support a shameful trade and they should become a thing of the past!

Dear UK Parliament and Rt Hon Greg Clark MP

It is appalling that, despite objections from over 35,000 PETA supporters, the government has disregarded the opinions of both the public and local authorities. It has condemned thousands of dogs to be caged, harmed and killed in experiments by accepting a proposal to build a new beagle-breeding facility. The Secretary of State, Greg Clark, has shown a complete lack of compassion, common sense and intelligence. Cruelty Free International said it had successfully campaigned in recent years against two previous applications to build the breeding facility. East Riding Council had rejected the proposal on each occasion. We the undersigned ask the Secretary of State, Greg Clark to think with your heart and not with your wallet, as the exploitation of animals in scientific & medical research is unethical in this age of civilized beings.
