Bring Back The LC

We, the members of Lions Circle are writing to (request immediate action to be taken ) bring to your attention the failure of fiduciary duty by the Elections Supervisor in regards to the recent Presidential election held on Saturday, March 25th, 2023.

On the 2nd April 2023 letter was tabled to the elections supervisor outlining his failures to ensure that the election is conducted in a fair and unbiased manner, with no favoritism towards any candidate and therefore challenging the election results. The elections supervisor responded in a letter dated 16th April 2023.

    These challenges include the following:

The validity of the following members to participate and vote.
    Demar Hewitt
    Paul Fraser
    Ted Evans
    Trevaugh Hutchinson
    Uriah Martin
    Mohan Beckford
    Jonathan Shaw

The elections Supervisor confirmed the above were eligible to vote, but provided no documentation as proof, as requested. Confirmation of Oath being taken and signed, along with payment for the 2022 to 2023 Fiscal Year.

Election interference contrary to Bylaws section 68.(1).
The elections supervisor was not allowed to suspend the elections as was his intentions.
However, the elections supervisor confirmed the recording of the elections was damaged or lost and therefore was not available for review.

    Independent Observer (Bylaws 9.(1)
The elections supervisor confirmed in his letter that there was no independent observer present, but that did not hinder the transparency and fairness of the elections.

    Voting by Proxy (Bylaw 100)
The elections supervisor confirmed the receipt of the proxies presented by Demar Hewitt, but provided no proof that they were served in accordance to the Bylaws governing proxy voting. The proxies reserved were not signed as well as not provided to the Organization 48 business hours before the election.

    Zoom meeting recording
The Elections Supervisor noted in his letter that the recording of the zoom meeting was no longer available (Bylaw 46.(c))
Further it is the secretary’s fiduciary duty to ensure the minutes and recordings are kept for all meetings and a failure to do so is a gross dereliction of duty.

Member list of committed Men April 2022 – March 2023
The Elections Supervisor presented the above list, as confirmed by the treasurer, but was vastly different from the document presented on the 25th March 2023, in that dates have been changed, with no explanation as to why.

Upon pressing the Elections Supervisor for documentation as per request, the Elections Supervisor sent an email to Larry Young on the 3rd May 2023, stating that all proxies presented by Demar Hewitt were not signed and that he does not have any signed proxies in his possession.

In view of the described election irregularities, we the members of Lions Circle call on the Board to hold a special meeting of members, as per Bylaw 80.(b), to review the election results of 25th March 2023. It is the Boards fiduciary responsibility to the Organization and membership to ensure that all elections are conducted with full transparency, free of bias, fairly and in the spirit of the values and principles of Lions Circle. This meeting should be tabled as early as possible, but not more than 21 days from the date of this letter.

As per Bylaw part 11 (3) we the members of Lions Circle request the board present all financial records, reports and meeting minutes of Lions Circle for review by the membership

We attached all relevant supporting documentation for review.
