Demand a Home Inspection For Palin's Service Dog!

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin was so proud of her son when he climbed aboard his service dog and used her for a stepping stool, that she posted pictures and distributed them via social media. Animal lovers, even conservatives animal lovers, have been condemning this flagrant dog abuse, and for good reason.

Turns out, the dog in question is a service dog assigned to the Palin family by the Puppy Jake Foundation. The official mission of Puppy Jake is to provide therapy dogs to help wounded and traumatized veterans. While the Palin family may well qualify for a service dog, was the family given no training about how to treat their animal? Do they not understand that standing on a dog's back could break her spine? And is Puppy Jake Foundation making the needed follow up visits to ensure that their animals are well treated?

The public has the right to answers because Puppy Jake Foundation operates on broadly solicited donations. Tell the foundation to conduct a home inspection at the Palin home to see if they are providing an adequately safe and happy environment for their dog.

Dear Puppy Jake Foundation:

We the undersigned are concerned about how cavalier Sarah Palin was about her son standing on his dog's back. It appears she was proud of her boy's behavior, so we sorely doubt that she is teaching him how to properly care for and respect a companion animal. Your foundation granted a service dog to the Palin household. It is very much your job to place these helpful dogs in homes that deserve them. We hope that you provide some kind of training to the family, and that you do not condone stepping on the backbone of a loving beast. The Palin dog's welfare is your responsibility. Therefore, we call on you to conduct a home inspection of the Palin house to determine if they are fit to own a service animal.
